Before being built , the market days , people of San Pantaleón das Viñas take the products that they have to sell from one side to the other side of the river using a boat which have been prepared previously. Each paerson had to pay a “ real” ( current coin at this moment) for each journey.

 

This construction designed by engineeries , marked a historical milestone in the village people´s lige, not only due to its importance as far a communication is concerned, but also for the technical advances used in its construction.

The first project on this bridge was mad by an civil engineer called Luciano Yordi. We hardly know at the level of the esturary. They began to build it and few time later ther stopped building it because of people´s complanis.

Cesar Villalba Granda would take charge of designing a new plan in 1928. Five years later, they began its construction. The construction of the railway Zamora- Coruña in these years tooke away attention to the bridge.

 

Firstly a basque company took charge of a company by the quantity of 1.406.999.81 pts and was substituded in 1935 by another one of Italian origin. This company had to accept the mistakes made by the previous enterprise. It was neccessary to reinforce the central frames by making piles deper and gettin wider the base and therefore, it was neccessary to demolish the immediate arch to build it up again.

In 1936, the metallic armour was ready to be put in the central strectch. However, the outbreak of the war as going to suppose that some jobs were abandoned.

When the construction began againg, in 1940, it was neccessary to change the ancient armour by one of laminated features. The works...
