It is in the middle of all the building but it is not lined to the new bridge which give access to it.
These constructions had seversl alterations at approximately in 1845 in the mills which are on the right of the door putting on them seven stones of the Fertè flint of which there is still two enclosing the mills.
There was also a house for the service of the mill, which seems to be the last mill on the right. A new floor was built and the rafters were changed.
The left side has no upstairs. The mills of this side are called common while the others ones are called French. The common word means that it had granite wheels, like the typical ones in this country, while the other were made of flint.
The grain of wheat which was milled for the flour merchants of A Coruña was grinded in the French machines. Because of that, it can be guesses that the mixture and the grain of the village was milled in the common mills which were on the left.
Going up the river, a deep channel brought the water of the top part of the land behind the buildings with a drop of more than one metre and a half. It could be even one metre higher if we take into account the levels in motor horizontal wheels of the mills were put.
Because of that the pressure of water was approximately 2,50 metres high which gave the necessary motor strength.
This channel had an overflow channesl which is still preserved. Its aim was to avoid the excess water in the dam because a big floodgate with an area of 2, 2,5 m2 , allowed the entry of water from the channel to the dam spread out over all the building.
Going through the entry door of the mills on the right and left side, there are two doors which communicate to two big rooms and in the back side of this part , there was a stair with a door which communicates to the ditch and with a wall which divide the path which goes to San Pantaleón.
There was a smaller floodgate in this wall which gave place to the water which move the mills on the right.
There two french millstonehich are still preserves on its place of origin. They have th inscription Societé Meuliere. The Ferté-sous-Jovare are the famous stones of the mill.
