Near the mills in Teixeiro are the mills in Batán which hands over its name to the place. They worked also with water of Meizoso.

A Batán (fulling mill) is a construction which appears in Europe in the Middle Age. It provides space for a mechanism called follon which takes advantage of the hidraulic strength, combs or with the aim of giving compacting texture to it. They were combed out during 24 hours. They should always stay wet with warn water , and because of that they had to warm it up in big pots. The fulling miller ( “batanero”) was in charge of all the process which needed an special and almost constant attention earning in cash by its sevices.

This spa of Vilamoures is made up of the fulling miller´s house, a house with a rectangular base and two flats. It has two levels, the superior one has an access from the lower flat of the house. The ground was made of wood and the mechanism was no it. The inferior leverl is similar to the hell of a mill wiht the entry and exit holes which arrived through a channel turning the wheel.

The access from the other bank of the river is made through a small bridge with a curious half arch

There are some others constructions near the house as for instance the remanins of a small shsed and a wood-fired oven.
