The mobility of the Andrade is from the Middle Age very important in the history of this beautiful municipal area as it can be observed in the municipal shield. It is in this shield that we have a bridge with a wild boar represented in the middle and on each end of a scallop shell, symbol of the pilgrims and making reference to the fact that the pilgrim road to Santiago de Compostela goes through Paderne.

Fernán Pérez de Andrade “O Bo”, in the XIV century ordered to build this bridge crossing the river lambre to establish good communications between Pontedeume and Betanzos, head of its fiels and also called Ponte do Porco. This name, which makes reference to the wild boar, which simbolizes the house of the Andrade family. It was in this bridge, where probably took place the legend which gave name to Ponte do Porco and which is known as the legend of Roxin Roxal.

This story is about Roxin Roxal, servant of the Mr. of Pontedeume, Mr. Nuno Freire de Andrade. This young man falls in love of Teresa, young doughter of his landlord. Although la noble dama also loved Roxin Roxal, she had to get married to Mr. Enrique by order of her father one day that there was a beating to pursue an enormous wild boar, which was smashing the lands of the peasants. The married couple decided to participate on the beating with such a bad luck that the couple found the boar on the bridge of Lambre.

Mr. Osirio hurt the animal, but not enough because the wild boar attacked him and his young wife when. Mr. Enrique saw the animal running towards himself...
