Hill-Fort in Obre:It is located two kilometres away from Betanzos, and it`s konw as one of the most unknown celtic hill-forts within the Area of As Mariñas.
You can go there by the C-640 road from Betanzos to Vivero. It is in the kilometre two where it continues by a narrow path on the left which 500 metres far away will take the advantage of the own hill-fort`s pit to continue its route.
Its geographical coordenates are: 43 degrees, 17 minutes north and four degrees 31 minutes longitude west with a height of 125 m. At the sea level. It does not really represent a headland worth mentioning among the places that surrounded it but an observation post with an outstanding visual control over the wide outlive. Its maximum height above the sea level marks a historical milestone between the towns of Betanzos in the NW and Paderne. It also includes the southwestern part of the hill-fort and adjacent far as geographical demarcation is concerned.
It is a moderately big hill-fort as for the rest of the hill-fort in this village. It is bigger in number than the hill-forts of Ambroa (Irixoa the hill-fort of Areas and the one of San Mamede. Both of them have a diameter smaller than geometric.
Its sizes are Axis north-south: 155 meters Axio east-west: 97 meters, exterior maximum height of the exterior part: 9 meters w, interior maximum height of the parapet: 3`80 m.
Oval hill-fort, the most common shape in this kind of fortified places.
