The municipal district of Paderne, county of A Coruña is located in the right bank of the estuary of Betanzos and it extends to the border of the town council with Irixoa. The road N-VI in the section Betanzos - Ferrol goes through the parishes of Souto and Viñas linking in Insua with the road which comes from A Coruña by O Pedrido.
It borders on the west with Betanzos and its estuary, on the North with the town council of Miño, on the south with Coiros and on the East with Irixoa.
To get to the capital municipal area, we must go out from Betanzos by the Road of Vivero. Consistorio is four kilometers far away of Betanzos. From this same road, there is some other roads which become linked to the parishes of Quintas, Vilamourel, Vigo and Adragonte. A modern bridge over the river Mandeo, near Chelo, wakes possible communication with the N-VI road when passing by Coirós.
Another road crosses the municipal area of Paderne by Villozás and also part of the N-VI road in Betanzos Howard’s Ferrol. After reaching Villozás it goes down until the River Lambre. It is from this place onwards where people can reach Ponte do Porco o Vilarmaior.
The municipal district has an area of 39,8 km with lots of local and state highway which link the different population centres.
